Margie E. Petroskey is recognized as an NAPW VIP Woman of the Year for her outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession.

NAPW honors Margie E. Petroskey as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Petroskey is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in dog grooming. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.

After losing her husband and best friend of 23 years, Margie Petroskey suddenly realized exactly how short life actually was. An animal lover who always had a dream of working on the “happy side” of pets, she decided that dog grooming would be the perfect way to move forward with her life. For more than seven years, Ms. Petroskey enjoyed working as a dog groomer at a number of grooming salons. Today, she is the Owner of her own business, Barks and Bubbles, LLC.

An expert at what she does, Ms. Petroskey is dedicated to making every dog that enters her salon feel and look its best. She offers a full range of services from nail trimming to full grooming, and uses a variety of safe and all-natural products and conditioners. The entire grooming process usually takes between two and three hours.

Unlike most dog-grooming businesses, Barks and Bubbles is an in-home salon and works on reserved appointments only. Bringing a dog to Barks and Bubbles means less stress for both the dog and its owner since Ms. Petroskey can work exclusively on each furry family member without the normal interruptions often experienced at a store front operation. She also considers herself an important member of a pet's healthcare team because she has the ability to discover potential problems early such as ear infections, skin abnormalities, tooth decay or parasites.

Awards & Accomplishments: De Soto Chamber of Commerce; Ambassador for the City of De Soto
