National Association of Professional Women Announces Terry Marcus, Owner of Woofdorf-Astoria Dog Hotel and Day Spa, a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 11, 2014 -- NAPW honors Terry Marcus as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Marcus is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in pet hospitality services. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
“I have eight rescue dogs of my own and needed a place to board them when I was away. All I could find were caged kennels and that was not what I wanted for our dogs,” says Ms. Marcus. “So, I decided to create our own affordable, luxury hotel for dogs.”
In 2006, Ms. Marcus opened the doors to Woofdorf-Astoria Dog Hotel and Day Spa in Racine, Wisconsin, where there are no cages or kennels, just wide-open, safe spaces for dogs to run, play and relax. Whether they need to board their beloved animals for a few days or weeks, or are simply looking for a welcoming place where their dogs could spend time with other dogs, the full-service facility offers pet owners peace of mind, and dogs a loving, fun and safe home away from home.
From a 6500-square-foot rubber-floored playroom to one and a half acres of fenced-in dog park to a big screen TV for when the animals are ‘dog tired,’ Ms. Marcus has created a hotel and dog spa of the highest quality. Her staff of dog-loving professionals, which has grown from four to more than 24, is as dedicated as she is when it comes to ensuring the dogs love their time at Woofdorf-Astoria. There is even a live doggie cam so pet owners can see for themselves how well their pets are doing. Ms. Marcus hopes to continue to grow her business and soon expand her services to include boarding for cats, as well as dogs.
