National Association of Professional Women Announces Tricia Killingsworth, Past VP of Pharmacy Clinical Services at Catholic Health Initiatives, a 2015 Professional Woman
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) February 03, 2015 -- NAPW honors Tricia Killingsworth as a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Killingsworth is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in pharmacy. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and over 200 Local Chapters.
“I started right out of high school working as a Pharmacy Technician in a small, privately owned pharmacy,” recalls Ms. Killingsworth. “I fell in love with the profession.”
After moving to Boise, Idaho, Ms. Killingsworth continued to work as a Pharmacy Technician, but this time in a hospital. “It was a unique opportunity since it gave me exposure to hospital and retail environments,” she says. “I also knew I wanted to do more.” Ms. Killingsworth eventually decided to go to school for her pharmacy license, which she obtained from the University of Washington.
For the past ten years, Ms. Killingsworth has held a number of leadership positions at Catholic Health Initiatives. Her most recent role was that of Vice President of Pharmacy Clinical Services. “I worked with clinical teams at the corporate level, overseeing quality and safety,” she says. Over 100 hospitals are part of Catholic Health Initiatives, making it the second largest health system in the US. Currently, Ms. Killingsworth is seeking an executive position within another large health system and is looking forward to continuing to mentor young women in the field. “Female leadership roles are unheard of in hospital health settings. It’s still a male-dominated field and there is a huge need for strong female leaders in this profession,” she says.
