NAPW honors Carole R. Fakler, Owner at New York Image Studio, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Fakler is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in graphic arts. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
Carole Fakler has always had an entrepreneurial spirit and ambition for success. She has been conceptualizing, creating and designing since high school. In 1984, she graduated from Boston’s Chamberlayne College with a degree in Graphic Arts and Advertising Design. Her career immediately started after graduation when she was hired as an apprentice in the scanning department of Magenta, a pre-press company in Boston.
In 2002, Ms. Fakler’s reputation for superb work spread, after leading a team of photo retouchers for an assignment at Sotheby’s, which garnered a revenue increase of a million dollars in catalog sales for the iconic auction house. Owing to her mastery of color theory, her career brought her to the attention of many of the east coast’s preeminent pre-press houses.
Driven by the desire to run her own company, in 2011, Ms. Fakler decided to open New York Image Studio in DUMBO, Brooklyn’s celebrated technology and design hub. She brought along her loyal staff, a positive attitude and lots of support and encouragement from her clients. Ms. Fakler specializes in high end retouching, pre-press, photography, short run and large format printing services. Today, Ms. Fakler’s business is thriving as she continues to produce the same impeccable work that made her famous.
