National Association of Professional Women Inducts Dr. Roberta Gartside, Plastic Surgeon, New Image Plastic Surgery Associates, PLC, Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) May 24, 2016 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Dr. Roberta Gartside as a 2016-2017 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in plastic surgery. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting morethan 850,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Roberta into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her outstanding work as a Plastic Surgeon and her continued pursuit of professional excellence illustrates her commitment to her chosen field.”
Growing up the daughter of a Nurse, Roberta Gartside, M.D., was inspired by her mother’s commitment to her patients. It fueled her desire to pursue a career in medicine, eventually deciding to focus on surgery. “I liked the field and I was technically skilled,” she said. “I went into plastic surgery because of the variety of surgeries, the innovation and creativity in the field -- and I was good at it.”
A Board Certified Plastic Surgeon at New Image Plastic Surgery, Dr. Gartside has been voted one of the top plastic surgeons in the North Virginia area. She is passionate about her work. Whether it’s surgery to improve one’s appearance and self-esteem or reconstructive surgery following a diagnosis, Dr. Gartside uses the most advanced technology in the field, including ThermiVa, a vaginal rejuvenation treatment. She provides all of her patients with her surgical unwavering expertise as well as her unending compassion and support.
Dr. Gartside is the Author of numerous influential articles, including The Biology of Human Malignant Melanoma. She finds the most rewarding part of what she does to be her ability to change the lives of her patients. “Reconstructing or enhancing an aspect of one’s body can have profound effects on one’s self-esteem,” Dr. Gartside said. “The most challenging part of today is the diminished ability to adequate care of someone because of the limitations of insurers and the shift to caring more about the data and less about the patient. More and more physicians are being asked to do with less and less reimbursement.”
