National Association of Professional Women Announces Carol Head, Owner and CEO of Rattan City, a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 30, 2014 -- NAPW honors Carol Head as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Head is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in home furnishings. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
“There is nobody else in Albuquerque, NM who sells custom outdoor furniture as the primary focus,” says Ms. Head, Owner and CEO of Rattan City.
A licensed Nurse who also works as a Nursing Consultant, Ms. Head often spends weeks traveling to a different state or country to help others. During one trip overseas, she met with a nursing colleague of hers who told her about a business that sells custom outdoor furniture directly to consumers and businesses. She eventually agreed to join him at Rattan City.
In the company's small showroom, Ms. Head manages the growing business, handling sales as well as customer and vendor relations. “I work with local designers and coordinate consultations,” she says. “We have a few pieces in our showroom so clients can see the quality but we do mostly custom work.” Although they have a quality assurance person on hand, Ms. Head has traveled to China a few times to oversee production of new products.
One of the latest projects Ms. Head is spearheading includes having Rattan City products displayed in Albuquerque’s upcoming ‘Parade of Homes,’ a showcase of furnished model homes. “As we become more established, I would like to get even more hands-on, doing more expos and interacting directly with the consumers,” says Ms. Head.
NAPW’s mission is to provide an exclusive networking forum to professional women where they can aspire, connect and achieve. Through innovative resources, unique tools and progressive benefits, members interact, exchange ideas, advance their knowledge and empower each other.
