National Association of Professional Women Announces Donna Parker Crutchfield, Certified Research Administrator, as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) June 03, 2014 -- NAPW honors Donna Parker Crutchfield, Certified Research Administrator (CRA), as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in research with this prestigious distinction.
“As a Certified Research Administrator I have met all the eligibility requirements necessary to be a professional research or sponsored program administrator,” says Ms. Crutchfield whose expertise in research administration includes working knowledge of both pre-and post-award administration of grants, contracts and clinical trials.
Ms. Crutchfield's knowledge of the OMB Circulars, Code of Federal Regulations, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Government Approved Accounting Procedures (GAAP), HIPPA requirements, and Human and Animal Welfare protection provides her with the tools to perform all aspects of research administration, from proposal preparation and submission to monitoring and reconciling expenditures, providing financial analysis of projects, and close out of projects. She is also experienced in many other aspects such as Change of PI, transfer to another institution, no-cost extensions, cost extensions, and contract amendments to name a few. She has many years of experience at Duke University, a private nonprofit university and hospital that conducts a wide range of research, both medical and nonmedical. She also worked at Research Triangle Institute International in Research Triangle Park, NC and at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Additionally, Ms. Crutchfield also has extensive knowledge of funding requirements for the NIH, DoD, NSF and other federal agencies. She also has expertise with private foundations such as Susan G. Komen For the Cure, the Jimmy V Foundation, the Greenwall Foundation, as well as many industries that provide research funding in the form of grants, contracts or clinical trials.
CRA work required Ms. Crutchfield to be involved with SRA International and NCSRA where she served on its planning committee for three years. She was also invited to serve on the examination committee of the Research Administrators Certification Council’s to develop certification-testing materials. Ms. Crutchfield’s immediate goal is to continue to grow and excel in the field of research administration where she is able to serve as a role model for her peers.
