National Association of Professional Women Announces Kathy J. Trim, Retired Criminal Investigator, Security Forces, USAF, a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 25, 2014 -- NAPW honors Kathy J. Trim as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Trim is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in the military. “I joined the United States Air Force because I wanted a better way of life,” says Ms. Trim. “I was a cashier in a local grocery store. I needed more direction.”
Ms. Trim spent nearly 20 years in the Air Force, and recently retired as a Criminal Investigator with the Security Forces. Previously, Ms. Trim was a Military Police Supervisor / Manager of Armory for five years. She underwent special training before taking on the role of Criminal Investigator.
From Europe to the Middle East to the U.S., Ms. Trim successfully conducted effective investigations for the military, and is well-versed in a myriad of cultures. She supervised a staff of 350 military men and women, managing their schedules and workflow to ensure a smooth running of the department and has been instrumental in successfully conducting over 7,500 criminal background checks. Ms. Trim’s exceptional wok has garnered her numerous awards including: Army Commendation Medal-Afghanistan, 2010; Air Force Commendation Medal 2nd Oak Leaf Cluster; Department of the Air Force, 2009; Air Force Commendation Medal 1st Oak Leaf Cluster – Iraq, 2005; Air Force Achievement Medal 3rd Oak Leaf Cluster – England, 2004; Noncom Officer of the Year Award (2002), and more.
As she embarks on life outside of the military, Ms. Trim is looking forward to pursuing her M.B.A. and seeking job opportunities where she can use her vast knowledge and the award-winning skills she has honed in criminal investigating.
