NAPW Inducts Dr. Emily Carroll, Research & Policy Council, Institute for Child Success , Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 08, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Emily Carroll as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in public policy. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

Since 2014, Dr. Emily Carroll has been an integral part of the Institute for Child Success (ICS), a “research and policy organization that fosters public and private partnerships to align and improve resources for young children in South Carolina and beyond.”
In her role as Research & Policy Counsel, Dr. Carroll works tirelessly to carry out the Institute’s mission of helping young children grow, thrive and develop through new learning opportunities and programs. Her expertise includes advising and counseling on public policy matters. She recently obtained her Doctoral degree in Political Science from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIUC). Her research focused on public policy, factors that influence public policy decisions and issues of social justice.
While attending SIUC, Dr. Carroll was the recipient of the inaugural Paul Simon Graduate Research Fellowship through the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute. This allowed her to work as a Graduate Assistant. In that role, she taught a number of classes to undergraduate and graduate students, including public policy, urban politics and intergovernmental relations. The fellowship also provided Dr. Carroll the opportunity to work on state-wide polls, conduct focus group research and policy analyses.
