NAPW honors Jeanette Panning, Manager of Editor Coordination at American Geophysical Union (AGU), as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Panning is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in management. For the past 13 years, Ms. Panning has been concentrating her efforts on managerial leadership at American Geophysical Union, working in the Publications Division with the union’s volunteer editors and associate editors. As Manager of Editor Coordination, she has been hugely successful in her group committee planning strategies, management of reimbursements and honoraria and facilitating the editor in chief search process while working on strategic budget planning. Her professionalism and proficiency in finance and accounting has given her the reputation as an expert in union budgets, budget forecasting and volunteer management for nonprofit publishing.
