National Association of Professional Women Inducts Margaret Deese, Owner of Crossroads Trucking, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) August 11, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Margaret Deese as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in shipping and trucking. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“It gives me great pleasure to present Margaret with this important honor,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “I applaud her for using her expertise to build a successful business enterprise.”
With a background working in different secretarial and administrative positions, Ms. Deese never dreamed she would one day own a business, especially one in a male-dominated field such as trucking.
“The opportunity presented itself when my husband and I were looking for a way to make money,” she said. “Friends of ours who own and operate a salvage / parts yard offered a trade of a semi-truck for a Jeep Wrangler that I owned. I accepted and Crossroads Trucking was born.”
Specializing in hauling freight and wood chips, the company is licensed and bonded. While her husband does the driving, Ms. Deese manages every other aspect of the business. An exceptional administrator, she uses the organizational skills she has honed throughout her career to expertly manage the day-to-day operations, including bookkeeping, taxes, insurance and all documentation.
Currently located in Gouverneur, NY, Ms. Deese and her husband hope to soon relocate to Texas and continue to grow the business. “Right now, the future is wide open,” she said.
