Marissa Barrera is a Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in New York and New Jersey. She is a Multiple Sclerosis Certified Specialist with extensive training in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with neurological conditions. An
internationally recognized Speech-Language Pathologist, she is also COO / Co-Founder of The Guardian Way® NMES and sEMG Dysphagia training course by Guardian Global Alliance.
Ms. Barrera has lectured worldwide and is a respected Researcher and Author. Her lectures on dysphagia, NMES, motor speech disorder, cognition and neurogenerative diseases are in demand for her exceptional knowledge, insights and understanding of the conditions. She is a professor of adult neurogenic and swallowing disorders in New York City and is also a a member of the prestigious Clinical Advisory Committee of the National MS Society and the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation Advisory Board. In 2010, she was the recipient of the esteemed MS Rehabilitation Fellowship and since 2012, Ms. Barrera has served as distinguished faculty for the Consortium of MS Centers.
