National Association of Professional Women Announces Marie L. Tippett, Owner / General Manager at Marie Tippett Travel, a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 30, 2014 -- NAPW honors Marie L. Tippett as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Tippett is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in travel and tourism. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
“I was the Activity Director at Golden Lakes Condo and realized people were interested in traveling and it just went from there. I was the first women bus owner back in the 1980s,” says Ms. Tippett, who owned over 30 charter buses. “I was in the minority but I loved it!”
Ms. Tippett, Owner and General Manager of Marie Tippett Travel, is proud of that accomplishment and the fact that during that time she was responsible for transporting the then President of the United States, other government officials and a number of high-profile ball teams. “We had to be checked out by the FBI before we could pick up the President,” she recalls.
Although she sold the buses in 1998, Ms. Tippett has continued to successfully operate Marie Tippett Travel, a family-operated, full-service travel agency, for more than 40 years. From luxurious sea and river cruises to exclusive customized motor coach tours around the United States and Europe, Ms. Tippett and her staff, most of whom have been with her from the start, work tirelessly to provide their customers with well-organized, affordable and relaxing vacations. Ms. Tippett expertly handles all of the details of every trip, from organizing to acting as tour guide, allowing travelers to simply sit back, enjoy the ride and let Marie Tippett Travel help them create vacation memories that will last a lifetime.
