National Association of Professional Women Inducts Tracy J. Wilson, Truck Driver at Serviceline Transport, Inc., Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) October 13, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Tracy J. Wilson as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. NAPW is the nation's leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating local chapters.
“I'm pleased to recognize Tracy with this important honor,” says NAPW President Star Jones. “Her perseverance, work ethic and leadership qualities are an inspiration to all women."
Inspired by fond memories of road trips with her father, Tracy Wilson took the bold leap to enroll in truck driving school in 1991. After eight weeks of intensive training, she obtained her license and hit the road.
“I have been driving for over 24 years; nationally for 15 years, regionally for two years, and locally for most of the last eight years,” said Ms. Wilson. “I have logged over two million accident-free miles. I love to see the world unfold around me.”
As a Truck Driver at Serviceline Transport, Inc., Ms. Wilson is responsible for picking up and delivering goods on time and in good condition. She also must ensure her equipment is always in top condition and reports any maintenance issues immediately. Hauling 84,000 pounds of total weight along city highways and rural roads is no simple task, though, and Ms. Wilson is often on the road for 12 to 15 hours at a time.
Although she loves what she does, the long hours have convinced Ms. Wilson to pursue a different career, one where she sits in an office rather than behind the wheel of a truck. She recently obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration / Health Information Systems from University of Phoenix. “I would like to work in the healthcare industry but I am open to other opportunities,” says Ms. Wilson, who is also considering volunteering to obtain more industry experience.
