National Association of Professional Women Inducts Amanda Smith, Owner/Center Director of The Tutoring Center, Southgate, Into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) October 27, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Amanda Smith as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in education. As a seasoned educator and longtime resident of Southgate, MI, Amanda Smith immediately recognized the need for an effective academic support system providing area students with the same opportunity for success as found in neighboring communities.
In February 2015, Ms. Smith saw to that need by taking on the roles of Center Director and Franchise Owner of The Tutoring Center, Southgate, where she leads a talented team of educators to foster the academic success of children of all ages in the Downriver area.
”My greatest passion is empowering children with the tools they need to succeed while building their confidence in their own abilities,” she said.
Ms. Smith conducts diagnostic assessments, test result consultations, parent orientations, progress testing and reporting, and helps parents navigate through special services offered by their district. With her successful background as a classroom teacher, she provides direct insight into the school district’s side of parent / teacher meetings as well as IEP testing and services. Most importantly, Ms. Smith instills confi dence and pride in each of her students, resulting in a
renewed love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
In the near future, Ms. Smith plans to open additional locations to provide more children with the tools they need to succeed. Her goal is to obtain her Ph.D. in Education and contribute to an updated K-12 math curriculum that allows students to learn more effectively.
