NAPW Inducts Deidra Kindred, Owner / RN Manager, Affordable Assisted Living & Services, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 15, 2015 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Deidra Kindred as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. Mrs. Kindred is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in healthcare. With more than 700,000 members and over 200 operating local chapters, NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women.
“I’m pleased to welcome Deidra into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her success in healthcare is sure to inspire young girls and women to choose this career path.”
Always wanting to cater to the geriatric population, Deidra Kindred used to be a Home Health Nurse. Impressed by a small group home while visiting a patient, she was intrigued by the care center, which was smaller and provided a more family-oriented settings than a nursing home.
“This is where the light bulb came on! I had a second home and began the process required by the state to run my home as an assisted living facility,” she said.
Mrs. Kindred opened a small residential care home for the elderly in September 2014. She is the Owner and Founder, along with her husband, and is responsible for the day-to-day operations. She has been a Nurse in critical care for more than 15 years. Her skills are to provide high-quality, personalized care. “I have accomplished so much by becoming a business owner and I know that I still have a lot to learn and I am eager for the challenge.”
Within the next two years, Mrs. Kindred would like to be entirely out of the hospital setting to be able to run the residential care home successfully and wholeheartedly. The most challenging aspect is finding the right client for the services she provides. She is rewarded when she meets the client’s needs and knowing she has been given the opportunity to help someone during a life-changing experience. Ms. Kindred hopes to open a second residential care home within the next few years and dedicate her career to helping as many clients and families as possible.
