The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors M. Schay Swope, DVM, as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

M. Schay Swope has always had a passion for horses, enjoying horseback riding and showing when she was younger. This passion eventually inspired her to embark on a career as a Veterinarian so that she could continue to be involved with horses.

Today, Ms. Swope, whose area of expertise includes equine reproduction, is the Owner of Whitehall Equine Veterinary Service, LLC, in Charles Town, WVA. Among her goals is the development of a business where people are able to bring their horses to be treated in-house. She recently purchased property and is in the process of developing a neonatal service.

Ms. Swope attended Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She is an active member of The American Veterinary Medical Association, the Society of Theriogenology and the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association.
