National Association of Professional Women Announces Elizabeth Haddon, Ed.D., Writer, a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) April 28, 2015 -- NAPW honors Elizabeth Haddon, Ed.D., as a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year. Dr. Haddon is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with nearly 700,000 members and over 200 Local Chapters.
Dr. Elizabeth Haddon is a psychologist who spent 18 years in private practice. After her children were grown, Dr. Haddon accepted an opportunity to teach in Kobe, Japan. Wanderlust soon followed, resulting in exotic teaching assignments all over the globe from Croatia to Katmandu to Santo Domingo and beyond. “Much of my career was spent teaching the children of diplomats,” said Dr. Haddon, whose experience includes an eight-year position as an Elementary School Principal in Buenos Aires.
Now retired, Dr. Haddon has been able to combine her teaching background with her love of animals into a new career. This time around, she will be training service dogs for autistic children. She is now a Certified Dog Trainer and will be advancing from dog obedience training to the specialized field of training service dogs.
A published Author, Dr. Haddon's many years of teaching often brought her into contact with children with learning disabilities. Her experiences with these children become the inspiration for her book, Milo - Autistic Warrior. Dr. Haddon’s professional title is Writer at McCance Books, a private company within which she explores neurodiversity and social issues. She received her Doctorate in Education with a specialty in Instructional Technology from the University of Sarasota.
