National Association of Professional Women Announces Randi D. Ward, Teacher, Writer and Entrepreneur, a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) November 25, 2014 -- NAPW honors Randi D. Ward as a 2014 Professional Woman of the Year. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in Education. As the largest networking organization of professional women in the country, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with over 600,000 members and nearly 300 Local Chapters.
Randi D. Ward is a retired Language Arts Teacher who taught high school students in the states of West Virginia and Georgia for 37 years. She was also a founding partner of Rise Up, an English language center, before its closing in the spring of 2014. She recently opened a new English center in Egypt called 6 October English Institute with her Egyptian partner Samar Farouk. Over the years she has traveled to 49 different countries, but Egypt and its people have always held a special fascination for her ever since her first visit in 1996.
After joining Facebook, Ms. Ward befriended many Egyptians and in 2011 decided to travel to Egypt to meet her new friends. Through SYE (Spread Your English) she was given the opportunity to teach English to Egyptian students. Now, back in the US, she continues her work teaching English via Skype to her many grateful students abroad.
Ms. Ward’s experiences of the country in which she fell in love are chronicled in her book, "Because I Believed in Me (My Egyptian Fantasy Came True)." Her many projects include World Peace Forest (Africa), an Egyptian moringa tree project to reforest Egypt and other parts of Africa. She serves as its US ambassador and honorary president. She is also currently the US Regional Director for Africa Nomads Conservation in Kenya, a project to save endangered African elephants, to purify water for the nomads, to reforest Kenya and to improve education for young Kenyan students. Ms. Ward promotes Egyptian artists and young international entrepreneurs and informs the public about other subjects of import via YouTube, radio, blogging and other media. She is also working on poetry books and short story collections.
