National Association of Professional Women Announces Ann Furno, Artist/Author and Owner of Avanti Art Studio, as VIP Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 24, 2013 -- Ann Furno, Artist/Author and Owner of Avanti Art Studio has attained the highest level of membership to the National Association of Professional Women as a VIP Woman of the Year and has been recognized for outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession.
Born and educated in Wales, Ms. Furno had the freedom to explore a unique environment where she was surrounded by nature. Her recent book, "A Village To Grow In" describes what life was like growing up in an bucolic Welsh village during the war.
Art and theater were her first loves, which she was able to pursue and develop through school, college and on into her teaching career. She combined these disciplines throughout various periods in her life. After her move to California she took advantage of some fine teachers: Betty Davenport Ford, highly regarded for her clay sculptures, Eli Hazak for his prize winning bronzes, Phyllis Case Bennet, a respected water colorist and Ning Yeh, a nationally known Chinese Brush artist. All these media were integrated into her craft, resulting in a variety of works to offer the public.
As an accomplished and multi-talented artist, Ms. Furno conveys her exceptional abilities through her delicate and expressive Chinese brush paintings and brilliant Asian collages. Her luminous and transparent watercolors flow effortlessly across the canvas and her delightful French Lady paintings have completely captured the essence of ladies who lunch. Ms. Furno is also an expert sculptor with a collection of works in stone and bronze which enhance an already impressive repertoire. Ms. Furno is also renowned for her artful line of greeting cards.
