National Association of Professional Women Announces Linda Halioua, Owner and General Manager of Venetian Hot Plate Restaurant, as VIP Woman of the Year
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) July 23, 2013 -- Linda Halioua is the Owner and General Manager of the celebrated Venetian Hot Plate restaurant in Port Aransas, Texas. Ms. Halioua has attained the highest level of membership to the National Association of Professional Women as a VIP Woman of the Year and has been recognized for outstanding leadership and commitment within her profession.
Ms. Halioua grew up in northern Italy, surrounded by the good food and wine that was served daily in her family's restaurant in the historic seaport area of Venice. The family restaurant was Ms. Halioua's school. It was where she was educated in every aspect of the restaurant business except for cooking.
After meeting her American-born Italian husband, the couple moved to Philadelphia where her husband worked as a chef. The frigid northeast winters drove them to seek a more comfortable climate, which they found in Port Aransas, one of the longest barrier islands along the scenic Texas coast.
Together, Ms. Halioua and her husband combined their talents to open their long-awaited restaurant. Port Aransas became the location for the restaurant, which they named "Venetian Hot Plate." Unfortunately, Ms. Halioua's husband died at the age of 44 after suffering a long-term disease. She has been running the business ever since.
Today, people come from all over the country to experience the food at Ms. Halioua's restaurant, which she describes as Northern Italian gourmet with a coastal influence. Her motto is "from the gulf of Venice to the gulf of Mexico."
Ms. Halioua is on the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of Port Aransas and on the board of the Merchants Association.
