Professional Women of Joplin, MO Got Together to Support and Inspire One Another at NAPW Chapter Events in July & August
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) September 17, 2013 -- Members and guests of the NAPW Joplin, MO Local Chapter gathered on July 10th and August 7th for professional networking meetings.
At both events, the group of professional women networked, supported each other’s goals and professional accomplishments and made plans for exciting, upcoming Chapter meetings and events.
In July, Joplin Chapter President Shanna Heckmaster welcomed members and guests to the meeting, distributing branded pins and notepads to new members.
The President invited each woman to take a few minutes to introduce herself and let everyone know what was going on in her professional life.
"Members exchanged their business cards and gave each other referrals along with sharing the referrals they have received so far by networking with each other," said President Heckmaster.
The Joplin Chapter met for dinner at Caldone's in on August 7th at 6:00pm.
After a round of introductions and a lively networking session, the group of professional women participated in an exercise where they focused on the hardships and road blocks that come with being a businesswoman or just being a mother.
"Each one of us took a piece of paper and wrote a problem, business or personal, and then passed it on. Every woman then wrote an inspirational quote or opinion about how they would possibly handle that issue," said Joplin Chapter President Heckmaster. "We were all inspired by each other’s support and words of encouragement!"
At both meetings, the Chapter President spoke to members and guests about the many benefits of NAPW membership, and how to navigate the website and communicate with other members.
Attendees went on to discuss topics and possible guest speakers for future meetings. Everyone was encouraged to visit the Joplin Chapter Page to communicate with one another, see photos, hear local news and provide comments.
