Professional Women in Las Vegas, NV Gathered at Official Launch Event for NAPW Las Vegas Local Chapter in August
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) October 03, 2013 -- Members and guests of the NAPW Las Vegas, NV Local Chapter gathered on August 28th for a professional networking meeting at Mimi’s Café in Henderson, NV.
At the Chapter’s official launch event, the group of professional women learned about each other’s professional endeavors and made exciting plans for the Chapter’s future including establishing a Chapter Leadership Team.
Guest speaker Michell Goldstein shared helpful information about her company’s online weight reduction support program.
NAPW Las Vegas Local Chapter President Betty Richardson opened the launch event by extending a warm welcome to members and guests in attendance.
“The launch event began with a lively meet and greet and the atmosphere was filled with excitement and wonder,” said President Richardson.
“Members and guest exchanged business cards, interacted with each other and made some wonderful connections.”
Following the meet and greet, there were formal introductions. Each member and guest introduced herself, her business and shared her view on why she joined the Las Vegas Chapter and what she as looking to gain as a member.
Attendees also spoke about their expertise and what they could bring to support Chapter objectives and goals.
“As the group of professional women shared information about themselves, it became evident that many are well-connected with charities and doing some fantastic work in the field of education and working with the homeless,” said the Chapter President.
As the Chapter moves forward, there will be more discussion to select a charity or charities that the Chapter could support. Some of the organizations the Chapter will consider include Shade Tree, Safe Nest, X-Mas Angel Tree, Big Brother/Big Sister, Dress For Success and Child Haven, a nonprofit for children in protective custody.
Following the introductions, guest speaker Michell Goldstein from Beach Body spoke about the company’s online weight reduction support program for on-the-go professional women.
Members were asked to review the objectives and roles for the Chapter Leadership Team and to let the President know what committee and/or role they would like to participate in.
President Richardson said all of the input she received from members would be reviewed at the next Chapter meeting.
The Chapter President presented a draft of Las Vegas Chapter Objectives Mission statement for 2013-2014 to be reviewed by Chapter members. An outline was also presented regarding Chapter structure with a leadership team. Feedback will be discussed at the next Las Vegas Chapter meeting.
Members in attendance included April Freeman, Barbara Nelson, Bernadette Quandra, Dawn Strianese, Jeanne Caligiui, Juliann Walton, Maria Boyd, Mitizi Reed, Sonia Anderson, Sherry Housfeld and Toni Stacey. Guests were Carla Berry, Danya Gresham, Patricia Prasad, Carol Norwood, Holly Landis, Kim Ruesga, Priscilla Brown, Vashty Maharaj, Debby Cain and Michell Goldstein, guest speaker.
