NAR to Host Real Estate Broker Conference at Hyatt O'Hare August 7 and 8
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) August 07, 2013 -- On Wednesday, August 7, the National Association of REALTORS® is hosting their inaugural Real Estate Broker Conference at the Hyatt O'Hare in Chicago, Illinois.
The conference will be opened by Gary Thomas, President, 2013 National Association of REALTORS®, and followed by Dale Stinton, CEO, National Association of REALTORS®.
There are approximately 4 sessions on both August 7 and 8 addressing the policy and economics impacting brokers.
The opening session will be the Political Landscape by Jamie Gregory, NAR Deputy Chief Lobbyist and then followed by How Washington Affects the Real Estate/Mortgage Business. Brian Chappelle, Potomac Partners and Mabel Guzman, Vice Chair of NAR's Conventional Finance Committee will lead this discussion.
The middle session will be Valuation Review: How is the Appraisal Process Impacting Your Business moderated by Frank Gregoire, a Florida state-certified appraiser.
The Valuation Session will focus on how increased government regulation has forced lenders to implement tighter lending standards, which impact the appraisal process. As a result, lenders must comply with appraiser independence requirements required by Dodd-Frank and appraisers must be able to conduct independent and impartial appraisal assignments. Real estate agents and appraisers are confused about what can or cannot be discussed during the appraisal process and who agents can talk to if they have a complaint about the results of an appraisal report. An esteemed industry panel will discuss how the process works now.
