Narconon Arrowhead Releases Drug Abuse Message for New Year
Canadian, Oklahoma (PRWEB) December 31, 2014 -- It’s a fact that substance abuse related deaths and injuries increase significantly during the holiday season. In fact the National Highway Safety Administration (NHSTA) reported that last year more than 10,000 people were killed in alcohol-impaired driving crashes with over 415 happening during the month of December.
While many celebrate with those we love and care for this year, we at Narconon Arrowhead also ask that we not forget the hundreds of thousands of individuals who will die from drug or alcohol related causes between now and New Year’s.
Narconon Arrowhead has found that the cravings, depression and guilt that consumes and guides an addicted person’s life will escalate during the holiday season. This is the formula for disaster that will cause too many abusers to over medicate to the point of dying himself or herself or taking the life of an innocent bystander.
Narconon Arrowhead Holiday Activities
In an attempt to get the word out to prevent needless fatalities, the facility held many community activities this holiday season. Narconon Arrowhead participated in many local holiday parades including the cities of Checotah, Eufaula, McAlester and Muskogee. With a float created by staff and clients of the Narconon Arrowhead facility, the rehab put out a drug free and sober message of Sober, Happy Holidays in Oklahoma. Narconon Arrowhead also raised funds as well as donated food and other necessities to local groups including the Hope House of McAlester, God’s Helping Hands and the Pittsburg and McIntosh Counties Youth Emergency Shelters.
As we move into 2015, the drug rehab program will be releasing new and helpful tips through their website and other media to educate individuals on the current drug and alcohol dangers, and providing effective solutions for rehabilitation.
