Narconon Freedom Center Drug Rehab Students Celebrate Labor Day
Albion, MI (PRWEB) September 05, 2013 -- Narconon Freedom Center, a drug rehabilitation center, provided an afternoon break September 2nd so program students could celebrate Labor Day with games and a BBQ. Games included volleyball, kickball, softball and bingo for the less active. Beautiful weather made the outdoor actives and BBQ of burgers and hot dogs enjoyable.
“Doing a drug rehabilitation program is a challenging experience and for many a very serious event. Where possible, we try to provide some levity and a variety of activities in a safe and supervised environment to help with morale. Often events like this are the first time in years students in the program have interacted with others in a social setting while sober,” said Brian Kuehne, Executive Director Narconon Freedom Center Michigan
The Narconon Program is a long-term (3-5 months) holistic, drug-free rehabilitation program where one drug is not substituted for another in the recovery process. The program consists of drills to help improve one’s confront and communication. Good nutrition is also a very important part of the program to help the addict’s body recover from the depleting effects of drugs.
The New Life Detoxification addresses the physical aspect of addiction. This portion of the program helps rid the body of drug toxins that collect in the fatty tissues of the body. It consists of light aerobic exercises, sweating in a dry heat sauna and a specific vitamin regiment. Many students report that upon completing this step of the program they notice their physical and mental cravings for drugs are gone.
The final steps of the program involve Life Skills courses to discovery why one turned to drugs in the first place, how to take responsibility and restore relationships with family and friends, and how to achieve a happy productive future. Each person leaves with an aftercare program and a person to stay in touch with who helps them transition into their bight new future.
