Tennessee Dangerous Drug Lawyers Continue Investigation of Alleged NaturaLyte and Granuflo Injuries While Statutes of Limitation Rapidly Approaches
Knoxville, TN (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- Knoxville class action lawyers at Greg Coleman Law will continue investigating injury claims associated with Granuflo and NaturaLyte as the statutes of limitation filing deadline rapidly approaches.
Fresenius Medical Care North America, the manufacturer of NaturaLyte and Granuflo, became the subject of a U.S. Food and Drug Administration Class 1 recall in March 2012 in response to an Urgent Product Notification released by Fresenius. NaturaLyte & Granuflo statutes of limitation will begin to expire in late March 2014 in regards to injuries caused by the drugs, or two years following the date of the 2012 FDA recall.
Patients who received Granuflo or NaturaLyte have been linked to increasing incidents of cardiac arrest as a result of elevated bicarbonate levels. The FDA released an official recall stating additional side effects of the drugs include dangerously low blood pressure, metabolic alkalosis, hypokalemia, and sudden death. The FDA followed the Fresenius recall by issuing a Safety Communication in regards to the dangers of treating patients with dialysis formulas containing acetate, citrate or acetic acid, as those used in Granuflo and NaturaLyte.
Court documents reflect that over 400 lawsuits alleging injuries and wrongful deaths from these drugs have been filed and consolidated in multidistrict litigation in the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts (case # MDL 2428). The GranuFlo and NaturaLyte Dialysis attorneys at Greg Coleman Law are urging injured patients, or survivors of fatalies that used these drugs to contact Greg Coleman Law for a free and confidential case evaluation to review their legal rights.
