ARLINGTON, Va., Nov. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Hobsons, a leader in education technology and college, career and life readiness, announced a record number of early decision and early acceptance college applications submitted to higher education institutions by high school students using Naviance. More than 1 million early decision and early acceptance applications were submitted by nearly 500,000 high school seniors in the week leading-up to the November 1 deadline. This is an increase of 29% over the same period in 2017.
Naviance, the creator of the College, Career and Life Readiness Framework, continues to expand equity and access of critical preparation tools for students across the U.S. Today, 13.5 million students at 13 thousand middle and high schools have access to Naviance, along with more than 400,000 high school counselors and teachers.
"We are incredibly proud that Naviance is the leader in delivering student success tools at scale for more than 40% of U.S. middle and high school students," said Monica Morrell, General Manager of Naviance. "We recognize that the college application process is a stressful time for students and their families, as well as counselors and teachers, and appreciate the trust schools and districts have placed in us to streamline the process and deliver documents on time. We delivered more than 6 million documents during the week leading up to the November 1 deadline. We will continue to scale our platform to meet the growing demands of our students, schools and partners."
Along with this growth, recent analysis by the Naviance team has found that:
89% more seniors using Naviance have applied to at least one college as compared to this time last year.
36.1 million college profile views since August, a 67% increase over same time period last year.
Students who took 5+ math courses were 19% more likely to be admitted to college.
Female students completed a college degree within 6 years after graduation at a 10% higher rate than male students.
Students that access Naviance 25+ times are over 95% more likely to apply to college.
Students that complete more tasks within Naviance Success Planner are more likely to be admitted to college.
"We have begun using the analytics insight within Naviance for our school district," said Dr. Martha Salizar-Zamora, Superintendent at Tomball Independent School District in Texas. "It has been powerful for us to understand what actions and student behaviors within Naviance at our high schools are having the greatest impact on student outcomes. It is also helping us to improve our guidance for those students to help them succeed."
