Microsoft Dynamics Partner Rand Group Congratulates Manager on Appointment to President of NAWIC-Houston

As a past board member, treasurer and long-time member of NAWIC, Jimenez couples her knowledge and experience of the construction sector with her passion for helping women in business network, learn and grow. Being named President of NAWIC-Houston for the 2013-2014 year is testament to her hard work and dedication to the Association, and demonstrates her understanding of the importance of a place for likeminded business women to work together.

About NAWIC
The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. It was founded in 1953 by 16 women working in the construction industry. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction.
About NAWIC-Houston
The owner of Gregory Edwards, a Houston HVAC contractor, encouraged his female employees to attend a meeting for women in the construction industry. The first organizational meeting of what was to become the Houston Chapter was held in the home of Florence Harrison. In addition to Florence, Grace Dockal, Patsy Minor, Frances Galvin, Carrie Ann Marquette, Jane Harris, Ouida Rouse and Ann Judice attended this meeting. These eight ladies called their friends, and 44 women signed the charter to establish the Houston chapter on June 21, 1956.
Grace Dockal still pays her dues in 2013.
