NAPW honors Sonya Vernon Cooper as a 2015 Professional Woman of the Year. Ms. Cooper is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in business. As the largest, most-recognized networking organization of professional women in the country, spanning virtually every industry and profession, the National Association of Professional Women is a powerfully vibrant networking community with nearly 700,000 members and over 200 Local Chapters.

According to the company website, Kinder Morgan is the largest midstream and third largest energy company (based on combined enterprise value) in North America. Responsible for overseeing quality control and inspections, Ms. Vernon Cooper excels in managing the receipt of incoming materials, maintaining accurate records and documentation and effectively communicating with outside contractors when needed.

A former Staff Sergeant and Flight Line Crew Chief in the United States Air Force Reserve, Ms. Vernon Cooper proudly served her country for six years. She was active during both Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and is listed in the national registry of the Women in Military Service For America Memorial. Ms. Vernon Cooper is also a Licensed Real Estate Broker. A graduate of the Realtor Institute, she has been an Independent Contractor for nearly 15 years in the Western North Carolina region.
