NCL Offers Complimentary Syllabus for Class Instruction
Chevy Chase, Maryland (PRWEB) September 09, 2015 -- They say nothing in life is without a fee, but the National Cyber League (NCL) is proving otherwise. In their quest to offer exercises and games to develop and validate multiple cybersecurity competencies, NCL is now offering a complimentary instructor syllabi for cybersecurity faculty at two- and four-year colleges and universities to integrate into their classrooms.
NCL provides a virtual training ground for participants to develop and assess cybersecurity skills using hands-on lab exercises aligned with professional certifications and industry recognized competencies.
“The NCL gave our students the opportunity to experience hands-on practice with security-related topics, which directly related to my classroom lessons,” said Bela Erdelyi, faculty at Brookdale Community College. “Participating students were excited throughout the entire NCL process. Teaming up with students from other educational communities during post-season further enhanced my student’s experience.”
The NCL syllabus gives a suggested course progression from NCL preparatory lab exercises and competition challenges to certifications. This allows students to use the NCL virtual Gymnasium to develop knowledge and abilities before demonstrating what they learned in individual and team competitions. It also allows the NCL to measure a player’s game performance and produce an individualized Scouting Report on strengths and weaknesses amongst various learning objectives and industry-recognized competencies. Organizations looking to hire based on what participants can do, in addition to what they know, can get access to the Scouting Report data.
To integrate NCL into the classroom, visit http://www.nationalcyberleague.org/faculty.shtml. Individual registration and faculty doing batch registration is now open for NCL. Registration is open through October 3. Regular season games are October 31 and November 14. To register, visit nationalcyberleague.org/registration.shtml.
