National Cyber League Announces Cybersecurity Competition Curriculum
Largo, Maryland (PRWEB) April 21, 2015 -- The National Cyber League (NCL) announces integrating cybersecurity competition curriculum into college/university classrooms and provides resources, lab exercises and virtual equipment to get the job done. On April 24th at 11a.m. EDT, NCL is doing a free one-hour webinar to educate collegiate cybersecurity faculty on the easy steps to integrate NCL curriculum into existing coursework.
For over three years, the NCL has been providing a virtual training ground for collegiate students to develop, practice and validate cybersecurity skills using high-fidelity simulation environments. The participant response has grown tremendously each NCL season prompting the organization to assist faculty and staff at colleges/universities to incorporate the NCL curriculum into the classroom. This coordinating effort will help easily infuse more hands-on learning for the next generation of cybersecurity specialists.
“The NCL has a powerful and proven model - provide an ongoing virtual training ground for faculty and students to develop and validate cybersecurity skills using content aligned with individual and team games - which is scalable across many industry certifications, curricula, job roles, and verticals," states Casey W. O'Brien, NCL Commissioner. "It couldn’t be easier to integrate the NCL into existing security-related classes.”
Validating cybersecurity skills is a critical component for educators looking to improve their programs. There is no cost for faculty at two and four-year schools to integrate the NCL performance-based curriculum into the classroom. The free one-hour webinar on Friday, April 24th at 11a.m. EDT will review what’s required to participate in the NCL as an instructor/coach: Instructor syllabi, recommended textbooks, lab exercises, video tutorials amd more. NCL also provides suggested course progressions from NCL preparatory lab excerises to professional certificates.
