"SndKey delivers an experience that we call "faster than money, more convenient than plastic". We believe this is the only way people would actually want to use their cell phones as a payment method", says Carlos Estigarribia.

NearBytes, the company behind NearSDK, the sonic proximity based communications API compatible with any smartphone or Computer, has just announced its new product, targeted at contact-less payments, SndKey.

SndKey is an innovative solution and service to boost and expand mobile payments strategies internationally, driving fast and successfully consumer adoption. Mobile scenario is changing fast in payments and e-commerce sectors.

SndKey is not another mobile wallet for the market place. SndKey is a platform that allows companies such as Gateways and E-Commerce websites to easily launch their own Mobile Wallet, which can be used for payments on websites and in retail stores. Using this platform, the Gateway or E-Commerce website will offer to their customers, a new way of making payments: a Mobile Wallet that will unify the mechanics of virtual and real payments with the highest level of security.

The main goal of SndKey is to help other finance institutions, payment gateways, telecom companies and m-Wallet developers to provide a payment solution that actually covers all existing smartphones and can work offline. The service uses a system of disposable codes, based on the DSC (Dynamic Security Code) concept, one of the most efficient solutions for protecting financial systems. We see 4 major points of friction in the current payment solutions:

  • need for a specific hardware
  • need for both parties to have Internet connection
  • need for pairing or setup prior to the actual transfer
  • lack of security integrated with the solution

"SndKey solves all those 4 issues and delivers an experience that we call "faster than money, more convenient than plastic". We believe this is the only way people would actually want to use their cell phones as a payment method," says Carlos Estigarribia, Partner and Biz Dev at NearBytes.

The SndKey solution uses the NearBytes communication SDK plus the NearBytes security layer that handles all DSC ( Dynamic Security Code ) generation and authentication, digital identity storing and Gateway interface.

SndKey solution covers:

  • client/merchant Apps ( launched under clients’ name/brand )
  • server side application that will handle authentication and tokenization
  • e-commerce integration tools.

No personal data is stored in the client App and all data transferred is dynamic making it extremely safe in every possible aspect regarding mobile payments. The solution is ready to be plugged in a gateway or financial service. SndKey will handle identities and authentication. The client handles the financial side of the transactions.

SndKey can be used for:

Omni channel sales - customers want to use their mobile phones shop online and offline having the same shopping experience. We provide an unified way to accomplish this. By using SndKey any merchant can develop a wallet that work the same way for e-Commerce and in-Store purchase, delivering an experience that no credit card or cash can give.

Loyalty programs - By using virtual currencies or points, the same solution can be used for building highly reliable loyalty programs with a great user experience.

Unbanked Population: Hundreds of millions of people in South America, Asia and Africa don't have a bank account, but they do have a low end cell phone and can use it as a payment method instead of cash. Those customers not always have an Internet connection so they need a solution like SndKey, that works on low end devices without 3G/2G.
