4 Wheel Parts Contributes Prize Money for First King of the Hammers Shoot Out
Compton, California (PRWEB) February 05, 2014 -- 4 Wheel Parts, industry leading retailer of aftermarket parts for off-roading, helped raise prize money for the inaugural SRRS ULTRA4 East vs. West Shoot Out at King of the Hammers. The 50 team event presented by King Shocks happened February 3 at Johnson Valley, California’s "Back Door" trail, and the West Coast off-road drivers emerged victorious. The regional showdown featured a mix of ULTRA4 rigs and Rock Bouncers to see which vehicles could climb Back Door the fastest.
4 Wheel Parts united with off-road companies King Shocks, Raceline Wheels, DynoMax Exhaust, and RCV to raise a total of $12,500 in prize money for the competition. $7,000 was awarded to the West Coast team’s Randy Slawson, who tallied the fastest time up the notorious Back Door. A second-place purse prize of $3,000 went to the East Coast team’s fastest driver and the fastest female racer was Charlene Bower from Arizona.
"4 Wheel Parts was happy to contribute prize money to the first King Shocks Backdoor Shoot Out and we love to actively support off-roading events that bring out the best in competitors," says Greg Adler, 4 Wheel Parts president and CEO.
Illinois-based RCV sponsored a $2,500 prize awarded to Matt Myrick of Alabama, who was selected as the crowd favorite. Additionally, Billet Rifle Systems gave a special prize to Slawson for being the overall winner at the grueling Hammertown event.
Recognized among the well-known, respected Johnson Valley obstacles, "Back Door" is close to Hammertown. The spectator favorite sports a steep scenic waterfall, forcing 4x4 drivers to make do or die decisions as they try to climb it. When off-roaders attempted to clear the ledge, the result was a lot of mechanical devastation fueled by fierce competitors and horsepower.
ULTRA4 racing has gained a reputation as one of the fastest growing motorsports in the country. The event’s origins date back to 2007 when off-road racing friends competed for bragging rights in the desert. Now over 350 cars race yearly in ULTRA4 events held worldwide.
