Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, P.C., Holds Fundraiser Gala to Honor Lawyer Who Survived Being Hit by Drunk Driver
Teaneck, N.J. (PRWEB) March 19, 2014 -- Twenty-five years ago, Steven Benvenisti’s parents were asked to donate his organs as he laid in a coma for 10 days after being struck by a drunk driver. Miraculously, Benvenisti fully recovered, and today, he dedicates his life to helping the injured as an attorney and partner at the New Jersey law firm of Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, P.C.
On Tuesday, March 25, 2014, Benvenisti’s family, friends and colleagues will gather at Season’s in Washington Township, New Jersey, to celebrate the 25-year milestone and, more importantly, to honor and benefit two charities he holds close to his heart, Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) and The Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey (BIANJ).
Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, P.C., will host more than 200 guests at the “25-Year Anniversary of Life” celebration, which will raise funds and awareness for MADD and BIANJ. Donations made by guests will go directly to the organization of their choice. Representatives from each organization will be on-site to educate attendees on their cause and raise additional money through various raffles and fundraisers.
Benvenisti will also present two awards in honor of individuals actively involved in MADD and BIANJ.
“Although the 25th anniversary of my accident is a great cause for celebration, I am delighted to honor and benefit two organizations that continue to help victims of drunk drivers and persons suffering with traumatic brain injuries,” Benvenisti said.
“Mothers Against Drunk Driving and The Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey are two organizations whose work and prevention efforts make a profound difference in reducing the number of drunk drivers on our roads and help those who deal with traumatic brain injuries in our state.”
MADD is a non-profit organization established by a mother who lost her daughter to a drunk driver’s recklessness. The organization’s mission is “to stop drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.” MADD highlights the importance and significance of every donation.
BIANJ, also a non-profit organization, was founded by parents of children who suffer from brain injuries. BIANJ creates support groups, advocates for brain injury victims and raises awareness through education and prevention campaigns.

About Steven Benvenisti, Esq.
During their last spring break in Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1989, Benvenisti and his college friends were walking when a drunk driver crushed his legs and caused him to suffer severe brain trauma. Doctors were initially pessimistic regarding his survival. The impact of the accident left Benvenisti in a 10-day coma. It was uncertain if he would regain consciousness or walk again. Benvenisti’s miraculous road to recovery consisted of 15 surgeries, a deadly MRSA infection and months in hospitals and rehabilitation facilities.
With the help of his family, friends and countless medical personnel, Benvenisti was determined to defy the new physical and mental challenges he faced. He not only relearned physical tasks such as walking and running, but he also overcame mental challenges associated with traumatic brain injuries by finishing college and graduating from law school.
Today, Benvenisti is a partner at the law firm of Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, P.C., where he dedicates his practice to representing the injured, including DWI victims and individuals suffering from traumatic brain injuries.
