New Book Focusing on Christianity Discusses Unverifiable Claims and Inaccurate Assumptions
WARRENSBURG, Mo. (PRWEB) February 13, 2019 -- In his new book, “The Evolution of God in Human Imagination: The Judeo-Christian Path and Beyond” (published by Archway Press), Gersham A. Nelson addresses vital questions that many have asked for centuries, including how God became man or man became God, and how perceptions of God changed over time. The book is available for purchase at: https://www.amazon.com/Evolution-God-Human-Imagination-Judeo-Christian-ebook/dp/B07L1M51Z3.
In this book, Nelson covers history that he says has played a critical role in shaping Western societies of today. The author examines the post-apostolic history of the Christian Church and argues that while advancing the idea that God made the ultimate sacrifice to save the world, Church leaders assumed extra ordinary power to act on God’s behalf, authorizing oppression and destruction of fellow human beings and human cultures. “The Evolution of God in Human Imagination” speaks to the global reach of Western Civilization, including its technology, economics, and general world view. The book has a pointed message for today’s society: “We must hold ourselves accountable for the welfare of our species and our planet or risk self-destruction.”
“I wish above all that readers will recognize the consequences of not holding ourselves accountable. We must develop a deeper appreciation for how the power of knowledge, applied appropriately, can change the trajectory of history, affording us the opportunity to create the preferred future,” says Nelson.
