New Ecommerce Fraud Publication Is First Ever Nexus for Merchants to Crowdsource Fraud Prevention Knowledge & Best Practices
Merchant Fraud Journal documents online sellers' experiences fighting eCommerce fraud so everyone can benefit from the lessons learned.
TORONTO, April 3, 2019 CONTACT: New eCommerce fraud prevention publication entitled Merchant Fraud Journal launches; Will honest, hard-working online sellers finally have the insider knowledge and resources they need to protect themselves against cyber thieves?
Research shows 90% of global consumers participate in digital commerce, but US eCommerce merchants alone lost $19 billion to fraudulent online orders in 2018.
As online sellers continue to struggle with combating cyber fraud, the Merchant Fraud Journal, a new online publication dedicated to educating eCommerce merchants about how to better protect themselves against cyber thieves, has launched.
The launch responds to a specific market need. Despite the global eCommerce market already being valued in the several trillions of dollars, no resource existed where eCommerce merchants, payment professionals, and other industry professionals could go to get educated on the myriad of challenges they face.
Merchant Fraud Journal was co-founded by two former fraud prevention industry professionals, at the forefront of using the "deep learning" AI currently powering eCommerce fraud protection models.
"The technology and business process knowledge needed for online sellers to greatly reduce the impact of eCommerce fraud is scarcely available right now," one of the publication's co-founders said. "The problem is that it's typically siloed within each merchant's internal processes and isn't shared between merchants. Merchant Fraud Journal aims to bridge this gap by bringing industry professionals together to share their knowledge. Our goal is to help honest businesses quickly understand their security options and take action, so they can get back to focusing on their core business activities."
Merchant Fraud Journal is designed to be a resource of crowdsourced knowledge contributed by industry thought leaders and fraud prevention tool experts. Topics will include chargebacks, false positive declines, account takeover fraud, friendly fraud, data breaches and more.
