Experienced IT Executive Brings Wealth of Experience to Key Post

Forrest T. Jones & Company, Inc. (FTJ) and Fidelity Security Life Insurance Company (FSL) have appointed Chayan Dasgupta as vice president overseeing information technology (IT).

Dasgupta, who goes by “CD,” will provide strategic leadership as a member of the FTJ/FSL executive team and manage a department of nearly 50 IT professionals. He will report to Brad Jones, FTJ/FSL Vice President.

Dasgupta joins FTJ/FSL after more than 12 years at Overland Solutions, a leading provider of underwriting support services in the property and casualty insurance field. Located in Overland Park, Overland Solutions was acquired in 2014 by EXL, a New York-based business process solutions company. Dasgupta was chief information officer at Overland Solutions before becoming vice president-technology under EXL. Before Overland Solutions and EXL, Dasgupta was senior program/product manager for Asurion, a provider of insurance, warranty and support services for consumer electronics and home appliances.

Dasgupta also has been active in the community during his career in the Kansas City area. Some of those duties have included: being startup mentor at the Enterprise Center of Johnson County; commissioner of the Olathe Human Relations Council; board member of El Centro Inc.; and serving on the Cancer Advisory Board of St. Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City.

“CD possesses a vast breadth of experience, marrying business needs with technical tools that enable the business to achieve its goals,” said Jones, the FTJ/FSL Vice President. “He has deep experience in insurance and is a people-first leader. CD joins a talented team amid great momentum for our operations. Our associates will enjoy working alongside him. With CD joining our team, I look to the future with confidence.”

FTJ and FSL are separate but affiliated companies under the same ownership. Founded in 1969, FSL provides life, health and interest-sensitive insurance products to brokers, third-party administrators and other distributors that market to employee groups, customers of financial institutions, and members of professional, trade and lifestyle associations.

FTJ is an insurance agency and third-party administrator that administers insurance programs for more than 80 national associations and affinity groups. Family owned and formed in 1953, FTJ also is an insurance agency and third-party administrator providing insurance and investment services to educators in more than half of Missouri’s 524 school districts.
