New Lansweeper Update Introduces Automated Discovery of Cloud, Plug-and-Play, and Mobile Devices
The popular network inventory solution Lansweeper further expands its scope with an extensive update, to allow IT teams to keep track of nearly every asset in their network and in the cloud.
DENDERMONDE, Belgium, March 6, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The team at Lansweeper today proudly announced the Lansweeper 2019 Spring Release, which is their answer to an increasingly hybrid work and IT environment. By continuing to add more scanning methods to the arsenal, the popular software further positions itself as the go-to solution for IT pros to keep track of what is happening in their network.
With more and more IT infrastructure moving to cloud services such as AWS and Azure, a Hybrid IT Network environment of virtual and physical machines is now commonplace.
"Keeping track of all of your IT assets on all these different platforms can be a real hassle. Retrieving and centralizing all this IT asset information in one single system of record, regardless of platform or location, physical or virtual, that's how Lansweeper keeps you in control of your IT," says Maarten Saeys, Head of Product Marketing at Lansweeper.
More than extra devices
Lansweeper provides a comprehensive, accurate and detailed inventory of your IT assets wherever they are located: on-premises, cloud instances or mobile endpoints. The Spring 2019 Release is one of its most extensive updates yet, focusing on cloud asset discovery, mobile device inventory and asset performance monitoring.
Lansweeper users can now keep track of Android, iOS, and Windows mobile devices as the solution now hooks directly into Microsoft Intune. Another addition to the scanning scope is Plug and Play devices.
This includes game consoles, media devices, smart TV's, video players and more which are now all scanned. This feature in itself already significantly expands the number of devices and the depth of data scanned by Lansweeper in your IT environment.
Resource usage metrics add a new dimension to IT asset management, providing an overview of the performance of assets in the network.
Windows CPU, memory, disk and network utilization scanning can be used to find and avoid hardware bottlenecks, control hardware spending and know precisely how many resources are required to move physical assets to a cloud environment.
Not only infrastructure is increasingly moving to the cloud, but so are users and software. Lansweeper now unifies AD user information with Microsoft Office 365 information to expand on its centralized overview of all user data.
Improved Lansweeper Deepscan engine
Lansweeper uses an advanced scanning engine that uses of a combination of network protocols to gather data across the network, without the need for installing a scanning agent on target devices.
"To Top things off, The Lansweeper Deepscan engine had a major upgrade, now using less CPU resources and discovering even more information on printers, routers, switches and other network devices," says Bert De Mol, Product Manager at Lansweeper.
