SAN RAFAEL, Calif., April 18, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Throughout the summer, players from the Chicago area will get a chance to train with Division I coaches at the Nike Volleyball Camp at Chicago State University. Head Coach Brandon Reeves, and Assistant Coach, Greg Manos, will direct multiple volleyball programs that range from position specific clinics to advanced overnight camps.
Reeves and Manos will be entering their fifth season coaching together, and recently had one of their players named as 2018 WAC Libero of the Year. Reeves has his first experience as a Nike Volleyball Camp instructor at the University of Mississippi for six years. With over 20 years of combined volleyball coaching experience between Reeves and Manos, players attending these Illinois volleyball camps will engage in drill work used by previous Division 1 athletes and advanced club players under their lead.
"We are very excited to work with Reeves again as he was a great asset to the Nike Volleyball Camps family," says Siera Love, VP of Nike Volleyball Camps. "Both Reeves and Manos have the energy and passion we look for in Camp Directors, so we know players will learn a lot from them."
This summer, Reeves and Manos will offer four different volleyball programs to players in and around Chicago. A one-day, co-ed position specialty program allows players to choose their specific position and receive advanced instruction to help them improve. Hitters, Setters, Liberos, and Middle Blockers will learn from position specific instructors throughout the day.
An All Skills day and overnight program is offered to girls, ages 10-18, of all ability levels. Under Reeves and Manos's instruction, players attending this camp will focus on their fundamentals and mechanics through basic drill work, some live game play, and positional training.
For more experienced players, an overnight High School Elite Camp is available to girls grades 9-12. At this elite program, all aspects of volleyball will be covered in a more competitive environment. Players will experience collegiate level training that provides them the necessary tools to grow physically, mentally, and emotionally in the sport. During the evening the Cougars staff will have motivational chalk talk with the campers to share their journey through professional and collegiate volleyball.
Younger volleyball players, ages 7-12, who are brand new to the sport or just starting out can attend the Lil' Spikers Camp to get a jump start on the basics of volleyball. Reeves and Manos will have players participate in fun drills and exciting campus activities that will help build their confidence and love for the game.
