“I am pleased to announce that the County of Newaygo is now offering electronic filing of recordable documents to the constituents of Newaygo County and to our many customers from across the country,” said Newaygo County Register of Deeds Stewart Sanders.
“Newaygo County is always looking for ways to enhance recording timelines with quicker turnaround capability. Our immediate goal is to make everyone aware of our capability so that our customers become comfortable with this new technology.”
Using Simplifile’s secure, web-based service, customers ranging from title companies to banks, attorneys, and lien filers, have the ability to scan or upload and submit documents directly to the register of deeds’ office where they are reviewed, stamped, recorded, and returned electronically in minutes.
“Currently, we do not accept court documents, death certificates, or sheriff’s deeds electronically. We do accept all other documents for recording electronically,” Sanders added. “Newaygo County remains committed to looking at new technologies that will enhance the recording capability of our customers.”
Recording fees and payments can also be processed securely through Simplifile, helping to reduce payment errors and eliminate check-writing expenses.
