New Home Solutions Goes the Distance to Help the Less Fortunate in Pikes Peak Region
Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) September 13, 2017 -- New Home Solutions USA is proudly sponsoring and participating in Rescue Ride 2017 to benefit Springs Rescue Mission. The charity motorcycle ride takes place on Saturday, September 30, with a breakfast at 8:30 a.m. at the Springs Rescue Mission, 5 W. Las Vegas Street, Colorado Springs, CO, and lunch at noon at Pikes Peak Harley, 5867 N. Nevada Ave., Colorado Springs, CO.
“It is unfortunate that in one of the richest countries in the world we still struggle with people living on the street and without shelter,” said owner of New Home Solutions USA and Covington Homes Realtor Lenka Martin. “Mental illness, drugs and alcohol are among the main contributors of why people end up homeless. Springs Rescue Mission is a charity that recognizes these problems, and besides providing food, shelter, and job training, they also offer counseling to help overcome some of these issues.”
The vision of Springs Rescue Mission is to see lives transformed and filled with hope as the community works together to fight homelessness, poverty and addiction. Its mission is to mobilize the community to provide relief, rehabilitation and empowerment services.
Last year, Martin and her business partner, Todd Gamboa, organized a coat drive for Springs Rescue Mission. With help from other local businesses, they collected donated warm coats, socks, gloves, hats, hygiene products and coffee.
