Formaplex Expands Manufacturing Capacity With Major Investment in Three New 5-Axis Machines
Havant, Hampshire (PRWEB UK) 1 October 2014 -- The Tooling manufacturing division of Formaplex has purchased a new Dinox 5-axis gantry machine from FPT Industrie S.P.A. Formaplex Tooling Operations Manager, Ben Yule explains, “The Dinox increases our 5-axis machining capacity and allows us to meet the growing demand for rapid machining of larger aluminium and steel blocks. The Dinox has a machining envelope of 2.5m x 2.2m x 1.1m. This investment further demonstrates our commitment to provide world-class tooling and component solutions.”
The newly launched Dinox 5-axis machine will be installed at Formaplex’s Havant facility during October. Formaplex and FPT Industrie showcased the machine at the AMB International Exhibition for Metalworking in Stuttgart, Germany, in September.
In addition, Formaplex’s Pattern manufacturing division has increased its capacity with the purchase of two CMS Antares 5-axis machining centres.
“The purchase of these Antares machines provides further capacity to meet the demands of our F1 and aerospace customers, whose work requires rapid 5-axis machining,” comments Formaplex Composites Operations Manager, Rob Carter who adds that, “the purchase follows investment in two new CMS Aries 5-axis machines in 2013 and we expect to see further 5-axis investment across the group very shortly.”
