Granted.com Confident About Increases in Laboratory Jobs Through 2013
Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) October 17, 2013 -- According to The Salt Lake Tribune, the Idaho National Laboratory may put 3,700 workers on furlough during the current government shutdown. The Idaho Department of Labor said that “about 25 percent of eastern Idaho's workforce is employed at the site.” This latest news release about laboratory jobs indicates that many experienced and skilled job seekers will be seeking employment in the laboratory field.
The spike in job seekers will counter the thousands of available laboratory jobs available on Granted.com. According to Harrison Barnes, Chief Executive Officer at Granted, a job-aggregation and recruiting site that features global job opportunities, said that there are more than 10,000 laboratory job openings available, with hundreds available in Idaho. "Laboratory jobs are escalating in almost every area," he said. "We are seeing increases from employers who are seeking skilled and experienced job seekers across the spectrum of laboratory services and sectors." This is backed up by Automatic Data Processing, Inc.'s (ADP) Regional Employment Report, which indicates that Idaho has seen a monthly change of .24% in job growth by adding more than 1,200 jobs to the private employment sector.
Per market research conducted on the Granted site, a recent job search clarified that there are more than 11,000 laboratory jobs available throughout the U.S published in some of the following categories: Environmental Safety and Health (139), Engineering (3,063), Management (1,960), Blue Collar (1,745), Chemistry (1,590), Research (1,100), Scientist (1,900) and Information Technology (1,700).
A recent survey from the Lab Manager publication indicates that the employment and salary snapshot in 2013 is improving along with the job market, and that full-time employment for chemists is at its highest level in five years. "This is encouraging," said Barnes. "Granted.com mirrors this survey; we have seen an escalation of employment opportunities in this sector of employment, and we will continue to see job opportunities rise even in the wake of job curtailment resulting from the government shutdown."
