Hound.com says Retailers are Ready to Hire Seasonal Workers
Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) October 18, 2013 -- With the holiday season two months away, businesses in the service, hospitality, customer service, and retail sector are rolling out the red carpet for job seekers. According to the article titled, "Companies Starting To Fill Seasonal Job Positions" released on the CBS Los Angeles website on 15 October, major companies are starting to fill seasonal job postings with big box and name-brand retailers ramping up their recruitment efforts with thousands of positions opening up.
"This is welcome news for job seekers," said Harrison Barnes, Chief Executive Officer at Hound.com, a job aggregation and employment site featuring domestic and global job opportunities. "We are seeing part-time and full-time seasonal opportunities from employers who are seeking employees across the spectrum of industries and sectors, especially in the retail, professional and business sector."
A recent job search on Hound.com indicates that there are more than 16,000 seasonal job opportunities available — with half of these open positions becoming available within the last two weeks. The strongest opportunities are in categories like Retail (11,800), Customer Service (1,200), Logistics (370), and Hospitality (290). "These seasonal opportunities may result in a full-time job after the holiday season is over," Barnes said. "A lot of businesses find great talent that they would like to maintain and cultivate."
According to Automatic Data Processing, Inc.'s (ADP) National Employment Report, private-sector employment increased by 166,000 in companies that employee more than 499 people on a seasonally adjusted basis, with the largest increase in the service-providing sector, specifically the Professional and Business Services, and the Trade, Transportation, and Utilities Industries. The jobs data demonstrates a trend going forward as the employment report serves as an estimate and predictor of seasonal sales. "This increase demonstrates the continuing trend of what we are seeing on Hound," said Barnes. "We have a climate of those who are predicting strong retail sales, with an even stronger need for employees to service those sales."
