“The legal industry is becoming extremely competitive. This makes it necessary for newly minted lawyers to find innovative ways to conduct an effective job search.” Harrison Barnes, CEO, Legal Authority.

According to the February 19 NALP report, “Perspectives on Fall 2013 Law Student Recruiting” entry-level hiring shows promise specifically for members of the Class of 2014 who were summer associates in 2013. However, Legal Authority claims that things are looking up for other law grads as well. This legal employment services firm affirms that the legal job market is not as bad as it seems to be and has a number of unadvertised job opportunities that are awaiting takers.

The NALP’s report has only taken into account law school responses to NALP’s “Fall 2013 Survey of Law Schools on Fall Recruiting” and legal employers’ responses to the “2013 Survey of Legal Employers on Fall Recruiting.” So, making a blanket statement with regard to the legal hiring situation solely on the basis of the findings of this report would be inaccurate, declares Legal Authority, which has helped many law students and attorneys find employment opportunities in the U.S. even during the recession. It says that many law firms aren’t good marketers and don’t know how to publicize their openings. Similarly legal job seekers typically conduct searches on job boards or through recruiters dependent on advertised vacancies. If vacancies aren’t listed, they are most often not known. It is here that Legal Authority steps in.

Legal Authority assists its clients in two major ways: (1) self marketing themselves effectively, so that they get noticed by recruiters and employers and (2) tapping into a job market which most of their peers and job boards don’t even know exists. Job seekers can visit to know how Legal Authority can work to their benefit.

Harrison Barnes, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Legal Authority says, “In today's legal market, more than 85% of all available attorney positions aren’t publicized on job boards or available to recruiters. Legal Authority helps its clients with this database of jobs that is unavailable to others. This database comprises jobs from more than two million law firms, in-house legal departments and government agencies categorized according to state, city and practice area. Clients of Legal Authority have access to this database. In addition, every client is assigned an ‘employment advocate’ who helps to make the entire job search process effortless as well as cleverly reach out and apply to positions that essentially go unnoticed.

Barnes says, “The legal industry is becoming extremely competitive. This makes it necessary for newly minted lawyers to find innovative ways to conduct an effective job search. They simply have to go beyond the usual route of conducting searches on job boards.” Legal Authority’s methods and employment advocates give legal job seekers an edge over others.
