“Real Road Racer”, a mobile car racing game was featured on NewsWatch as part of its popular segment, AppWatch, that takes a look at the latest and coolest mobile applications and services on the iOS, Android, and Windows market. Andrew Tropeano, the host of AppWatch, conducted the review and shared with viewers how it uses real maps and racing locations as the routes for races.
Real Road Racer lets users rev their engine and race on real streets through google maps. Players have access to over 50 races that are actual locations for real competitions. Races routes and lcoations from Monte Carlo to Santa Monica. Players can also create their own route.
The game is simple but fun. To play, users can choose one of three levels – easy, average, or difficult. Once they start, they get a high-level overview of the course before zooming over to the car icon. There is a gas and brake pedal, and a steering wheel on screen. Players race two other competitors.
As competitors win, they receive points which unlock courses. The harder the course, the more points players receive. It’s a fun game that is the only one in the iOS and Android store that uses real maps.
