NextServices Demos enki EHR through Google Glass at FutureMed
Ann Arbor, MI (PRWEB) November 01, 2013 -- After developing a mobile electronic health records platform for ambulatory surgery centers, NextServices will unveil a prototype of enki Glassware at FutureMed in San Diego. enki Glassware extends the functionality available on the iPad and web to Google Glass. Physicians can access patient records at the point of care by invoking Google Glass without having to look away from their patients.
The enki prototype demonstrates the ability of technology for Google Glass to seamlessly synchronize with its web and iPad counterparts. Important elements of a patient's record including vital signs, allergies, medications, demographics and imaging can be viewed in real time through timeline cards on Glass. Physicians can swipe through their schedule, select a patient and go through medical details seamlessly.
As part of its readiness for physicians of the future, enki EHR also integrates with 23andMe, a DNA testing service. From genetic health risks to responsiveness to drugs, DNA information embedded inside a patient's medical record helps physicians respond to disease conditions with greater awareness. "As medicine transforms into a data science, it's important to equip physicians and patients with relevant information at the point of care. Today's electronic health records are static - merely storage systems of gross-level medical information. In the future, data such as that from a patient's DNA, microbiome or even a patient's physical activity will make health records dynamic - with the potential of detecting problems even before they occur," said Praveen Suthrum, President and Co-Founder of NextServices. "enki's integration with Google Glass is transformational because it can help doctors visualize data better."
"With years of experience, NextServices has specialized in delivering both technology and business solutions for doctors. FutureMed is the perfect platform for us to demonstrate our vision of the future of healthcare delivery," said Satish Malnaik, CEO and Co-founder, NextServices, Inc.
FutureMed attendees can experience enki platform over the web, iPad and Glassware (prototype only) at the Crown Room at Hotel Del Coronado, November 4th and 5th, 2013.
