NFI’s James O’Leary to Speak at Mobility21 Next-Gen Truck Summit
CHERRY HILL, N.J. (PRWEB) October 22, 2018 -- James O’Leary, Vice President of Fleet Services at NFI, will speak at Moving America Forward: Next Generation of Truck Freight Transport Summit taking place October 24 to October 25, 2018 at the Singh Center for Nanotechnology at the University of Pennsylvania. The event, focused on trucking technology design, development and employment, and the evolving freight transportation market, is hosted by Mobility21, a technology and transportation research project, operating out of the PRECISE (Penn Research in Embedded Computer and Integrated Systems Engineering) Center.
The panel session on October 25, entitled “Electrification & Fueling Future Freight,” will explore future commercial transportation technology. As more trucking technologies become available, many shippers have started to shift from diesel commercial fleets to alternative power sources. O’Leary and other leading fleet operators will discuss the future challenges shippers may face, including the basic power needs of trucks and distribution systems for new fuels, as well as what the return on investment may be. O’Leary specifically will talk about what it’s like to be an end-user leading the industry to electric trucks.
“As electric and natural gas trucks enter into the market, shippers are showing more interest in implementing similar technologies to create sustainable operations,” said O’Leary. “However, with any major change comes uncertainties and challenges. Partnering with a 3PL like NFI can provide consulting and the expertise to ensure a seamless integration.”
