For both the wine business and in football, if you want longevity, you must work hard. If you want to make a great wine that can stand the test of time, then you must put the time and the work into it.
PASO ROBLES, Calif. (PRWEB) August 13, 2019
O’Neill Vintners & Distillers, a leading California producer of premium wine brands, announces the launch of the new wine brand, ‘Intercept’ in partnership with wine aficionado, television personality, retired football superstar, and one of the all-time leaders in NFL interceptions, Charles Woodson. Intercept is a new line of wines from Paso Robles and Monterey County that plans to bring Charles Woodson’s passion for wine to every table in America. Vintages will include a cabernet sauvignon, red blend, pinot noir and Chardonnay. Intercept focuses on the journey instead of the results, leadership instead of influence, and accessibility instead of exclusivity.
To launch the new wine brand ‘Intercept’, Charles Woodson will host a private media reception at the infamous Wolverine’s home field, Michigan Stadium at the University of Michigan on August 21, 2019. The event will mark the debut of the brand and will be supported with distribution in the Midwest, California and Florida. Guests will also get to toast the recent announcement of Woodson’s induction into Michigan Sports Hall Of Fame scheduled for a separate ceremony in October.
Media and select guest will be treated to a unique experience to connect and speak one-on-one with Woodson about what he calls his “true passion”. Guests will also get to mingle with Jeff O’Neill and lead winemaker Amanda Gorter as they sample each wine paired with a specially curated menu by Main Street Ventures restaurant group.
"My love of wine happened organically while being in Napa Valley during training camp while playing for the Oakland Raiders in the 90's." says Charles Woodson. "The way people connected with wine intrigued me and I wanted to be a part of it." Woodson says. "I created Intercept for my fans. The fans demanded it. They wanted more from me and I wanted to deliver. My fans wanted to connect with me after football and wine is the great connector."
"For both the wine business and in football, if you want longevity, you must work hard. If you want to make a great wine that can stand the test of time, then you must put the time and the work into it." says Woodson. “This was even true to finding the location. After touring the Paso Robles and Monterey area, I knew I had found the right home for Intercept. The perfect pairing, so to speak," adds Woodson.
